Nick Carter Couldn’t Attend Sister’s Funeral Due to Family’s ‘Complicated Dynamic’

Nick Carter attributed his absence at late sister Leslie Carter's funeral to what he calls his family's complicated dynamic.

I wanted to be at my sister's funeral, but my family has always had a complicated dynamic, he reportedly told E! in a statement. There are so many emotions for me surrounding the loss of my sister. I am trying to stay healthy, positive, and focused.

Sources reportedly told TMZ that Carter felt as if his family made an effort to ensure his absence. One of his siblings denied this, per TMZ.

Leslie Carter died on Jan. 31 at the age of 25. She was buried on Sunday in Mayville, New York, according to an E! report.

It was a very wonderful and touching ceremony, a source told E!

Nick Carter is currently on tour and announced he would go on with it rather than cancel.

Performing is cathartic to me and I am dedicating the rest of my tour to my sister since she loved to watch me perform, he said in a statement on his Web site on Feb. 1.
