Nick Cordero's wife, Amanda Kloots, has shared a side-by-side photo of her late husband and 13-month-old son Elvis, expressing awe over the similarities between father and son.
Kloots took to Instagram on Sunday to share the side-by-side picture of Cordero and Elvis, revealing that it was sent to her by a follower. The fitness instructor, 38, said the snap “took [her] breath away.”
“I have said from the beginning that Elvis is a mini Nick but WOW this side by side sealed the deal,” Kloots wrote on the post.
Cordero, 41, died on July 5 of complications from the coronavirus. The actor was hospitalized for almost three months after he contracted the virus in March this year and suffered complications that led to an amputated leg, septic shock and a temporary pacemaker.
Kloots has been open about her grief since Cordero’s passing, and on Sunday, she said she was grateful to have Elvis in her life.
“I've noticed now that Elvis does this look a lot to me,” she added. “When he is playing and I call his name to look at me or we are cuddling in bed and he looks up at me. It makes my heart melt. I feel so lucky to have Elvis in my life. A piece of Nick that is still alive. I am so grateful for that.”
Cordero met Kloots, a former dancer, when they both joined the cast of “Bullets Over Broadway.” They got married in 2017 and welcomed Elvis in June last year.
Just days after Cordero’s death, Kloots shared a video on her Instagram in which Elvis is watching home videos of Cordero. Upon hearing the actor’s voice, the child picks up the phone and holds it in front of his face. Kloots said at the time that since the actor’s death, Elvis has been trying to kiss the screen while watching Cordero’s videos.
Last week, Kloots revealed that Cordero’s death has left her “unable to think or move.”
“Every day, as I process this loss more and more, I realize new things that are hitting me on a daily basis,” Kloots wrote in an Instagram post. “Today it was that I lost our family. I lost my husband. Elvis lost his father, but today I realized we lost our family.”
