Is Nicki Minaj Dating Nas? Fans React To Romantic Photo After Meek Mill Split

Although they have previously worked together on music, not many have thought much of Nicki Minaj and Nas being more than just friends. That is until recently.

After posting what seemed like a romantic picture of herself and her fellow rapper on Instagram Tuesday, many fans began to suspect that Nicki Minaj and Nas are dating.

“Nas and Nicki” began to trend on Twitter on Wednesday morning. Shortly after the picture was posted, the hashtag “NasNika” began to trend. Although she neither confirmed nor denied the romance, the “Regret in Your Tears” rapper did acknowledge the sudden interest in her dating life.

One fan sent her a screenshot of “#NasNika” trending which Minaj found funny. “Y’all so damn silly,” she replied to her fan with several laughing crying face emojis.

The dating rumors first started when Minaj shared a photo of herself and Nas on Instagram looking as if they were a couple enjoying a romantic dinner. In the photo, the two are sitting down at the dinner table with Nas’ arm wrapped around Minaj’s neck as she leans into him.

The “Make Love” rapper’s eyes are closed in the shot as if she is enjoying the sweet moment while the “Illmatic” artist leans his face into her and points to the camera. “Only KINGS recognize QUEENS,” the caption for the photo read. The rapper also went on to congratulate Nas on his partnership with the restaurant Sweet Chick Life.

Minaj’s caption could be interpreted in several ways. Both rappers are from the New York City borough of Queens and the caption could be a shout out to where they both grew up. However, the quote could also be Minaj’s way or telling her fans to welcome Nas into her life.

Last week, Minaj tweeted out a message asking the media to no longer call her fan base the Barbz and instead call them “The Kingdom.” This confused many who didn’t know whether to refer to themselves “A Kingdom” or “The Kingdom.”

Minaj later clarified, telling her fans that they are Barbz that live in “The Kingdom.” Minaj constantly refers to herself as the queen of rap and her fans agree with her. Could the Barbz’s queen be asking her fans to welcome a new king into “The Kingdom?”

Either way, fans are all for Minaj and Nas spending time together. “Nas and Nicki look cute together. I support this,” one fan tweeted.

“Now to think about it Nas and Nicki would make a nice couple,” another supporter wrote.

Minaj, who was born Onika Tanya Maraj, has been spending a majority of 2017 focusing on her career and new music. The rapper made this decision while announcing her split from ex-boyfriend Meek Mill on Jan. 5.

“To confirm, yes I am single. Focusing on my work & looking forward to sharing it with you guys really soon. Have a blessed New Year. Love u,” she tweeted to fans at the time. Since then she has collaborated with several artists and released hits like “No Frauds” and “Changed it.”

Although the status of Nas and Minaj’s relationship is still up in the air, it’s no secret that when the two come together great music is created. Whether their latest meetup was business focused or romantic, fans seem to approve.
