Nicki Minaj Kicks Off Billboard Awards With Remy Ma Diss; Watch Her Performance
The beef between Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma may have been dormant since March, but the “Regret In Your Tears” rapper threw some more fuel in the fire on Sunday night.
Opening the 2017 Billboard Music Awards on ABC live from the T-Mobile Arena, Minaj kicked off her nine-minute medley with her Remy Ma diss track, “No Frauds.” Just like she did in March, Nicki didn’t hold back any punches, directing a number of lines at Remy Ma.

“You can’t be Pablo if your work ain’t sellin,’” Minaj rapped on the track. “Back to back, oh you mean, back to wack? / ‘Back to Back’? Me and Drizzy laughed at that / They say numbers don’t matter but when they discussin’ the kings / They turn around and say Lebron ain’t got six rings,” she continued.
Although Drake, who is featured on the song, didn’t appear with Minaj on stage, the “Changed It” rapper did get some help from her labelmate and longtime collaborator Lil Wayne. While Nicki used her verse to attack Remy Ma, Weezy kept his verse neutral, rapping, “Feelin’ like Tune-y Montana, Weezy, he get honored / Drake a headliner, and Nicki, she get finer, word.”
After feuding through the month of February, Remy Ma revealed in March that she wasn’t proud of her diss, “Shether,” but felt the record had to be done. During a Facebook Live Q&A with Buzzfeed, the rapper said, “I do not condone or recommend the tearing down of another female. Anybody that knows me knows that I embrace females… I think we work so much better when we work together and when we help each other.”
Remy added, “I feel like we could’ve done the same thing working together... I just personally think it would’ve been so much cooler… If we came together and made something crazy… It could’ve been totally different.”
While it may have seem that the feud between the two began when Nicki Minaj called herself the best female rapper, Remy Ma said there was another reason. During an appearance on “The Wendy Williams Show” the hip-hop artist said, “It wasn’t necessarily the little subliminal stuff on records because I don’t care about records.”
The rapper added, “It was the behind-the-scene things that you people would never know about… I have a problem. When you’re trying to stop my bag, when you’re trying to stop me from taking care of my children, then I have a problem with that.”
According to Remy Ma, Nicki Minaj had allegedly attempted to keep her away from events and tried to plant stories about her album sales. The “Plato o Plomo” rapper added that Nicki would try to keep her off the red carpet and made sure awards would never go to her.
