Nicki Minaj-Meek Mill Update: Couple Looking To Buy House Together Amid Marriage Rumors
Nicki Minaj and her boyfriend Meek Mill have set their eyes on buying a house together in California. The couple has bid on a 9-bedroom house in Hollywood Hills, TMZ reported Sunday.
It was not clear if they would get the house, but the TMZ report said that the move showed that they were strongly rooted in their relationship. Minaj has been concerned about finding a new place to call home since January, when the lease for her old house, with former boyfriend Safaree Samuels, ended in January this year, TMZ reported.
The report added that there have been talks that the couple will get married, but no proposals have been made so far. Reports in April has also suggested that Minaj and Mill got engaged as she was seen wearing a diamond ring.
But the “Anaconda” singer denied the reports and said that she is afraid of relationships as she has had only three boyfriends in her life.
“This is a big step because they’ve only known one thing for over a decade. Even my pastor, who’s like a second mother, was scared. Everybody was just scared,” Minaj said in an interview for GQ’s October issue.
She had added that her mother was opposed to her relationship at first. “The only person was mother. My mother only knows Meek from what she sees in public, in the media. She’s met him now, but she just wants to make sure he’s a nice guy. She’s overprotective of her daughter,” Minaj had said in the interview.
The couple was said to have faced trouble when “Hotline Bling” singer Drake took a jab at Mill in a song. Minaj mostly stayed out of the feud, but in an October interview with the New York Time's culture magazine, she expressed her discomfort with the feud.
"They're men, grown-a-- men," Minaj told the New York Times magazine’s culture issue, adding: "It's between them. ... I hate it. It doesn't make me feel good. You don't ever want to choose sides between people you love. It's ridiculous. I just want it to be over."
