Nicki Minaj-Meek Mill Update: Did ‘Anaconda’ Rapper Dump Boyfriend Over Drake Diss?
“I’m a Boss” rapper Meek Mill might have had the worst week ever. Not only did the Internet determine his diss track to “Back 2 Back” rapper Drake flopped, but his girlfriend, rap superstar Nicki Minaj, broke up with him -- apparently. The story comes from Media Take Out, so there’s always a chance the tale could be nothing more than gossip. But if the rumors are true, the rap dup broke up Thursday night.
"It's complicated. I think they took their relationship too far, too fast,” a source, who claimed to be Minaj’s best friend, told MTO Friday. The insider wouldn’t say if the split had anything to do with Mill’s feud with Drake. Mill and Minaj plan to continue their tour together, despit their supposed split, MTO wrote.
Even though it was Mill, 28, who tried to slam Drake, 28, in “Wanna Know,” Minaj was blasted on Instagram for her boyfriend’s failure, Bossip noted. When she posted a photo thanking her fans for 30 million followers, commenters took the opportunity to make fun of her for being in a relationship with Mill. IG users said things like, “I can’t believe someone like you is with someone like him” and “you should’ve stopped him from writing that track.”
It’s a drastic change for the couple, who sparked engagement rumors in April after Minaj, 32, posted a photo of a heart-shaped diamond to Instagram on her left ring finger. There were even claims that Minaj was pregnant with Mill’s child earlier this month.
Minaj, however, squashed that rumor. “No matter wht he, or anyone else says, Onika Tanya Maraj (her real name) won't b pushing anyone1 out her vajayjay, until she's married,” she tweeted. “Now check that.”
It’s not the first time she has said she wants to be married before she has a baby. “I’ve always felt like that since I was young; my mother always put that in my head,” she told Complex magazine in November 2014.
Minaj has not made a statement about Mill’s diss track to Drake, “Wanna Know.”
