Nicki Minaj Pregnant: Hints Rapper Dropped That She Was Expecting Baby With Kenneth Petty

Nicki Minaj surprised her fans on Monday when she announced that she was expecting her first child with husband Kenneth Petty.

Minaj took to her Instagram page to reveal the good news, posting a number of photos of herself flaunting her baby bump. She did not give any indication as to how far along in her pregnancy she is or when the due date is.

Minaj’s pregnancy confirmation comes less than a year after she announced her decision to step away from the limelight and start a family of her own.

“I've decided to retire & have my family,” Minaj tweeted in September last year.

Rumors of Minaj’s pregnancy had been making the round for months, with the “Anaconda” rapper admitting to fans in May that she has been suffering from “nausea” and “peeing non-stop.”

As for food, Minaj said she had been having meat and salad cravings.

“Steak. Shrimp. Plus my famous cheeseburgers,” she told a fan when asked about the dishes she cooked during the lockdown.

“Been rlly having red meat cravings then salad cravings with extra jalapeños,” Minaj added. “Ordered Chkn nachos that didn’t come w/jalapeños. Who does that? Wow.”

The rapper went on to add that she wouldn’t post a baby bump photo for a “couple months” as “the world ain’t ready yet.”

Minaj’s Instagram photos had also fueled the pregnancy speculations.

In one topless snap posted in June, Minaj sports colorful pasties, and her midriff is covered up. This had ignited rumors that she could be hiding a baby bump. Another photo of Minaj posing in front of Baby Shark, a popular children’s song mascot, also had fans believing she’s gearing up to announce her pregnancy.

Minaj has been vocal about her love for children, and on more than one occasion, the rapper has spoken about her desire to start a family.

In a 2019 song with Chance The Rapper, she said that she was “’bout to walk down the aisle and be a mommy.” The previous year, she told Wonderland that she loved children and wouldn’t delay having kids “for much longer.”

Minaj married Petty in October last year after nearly a year of dating. The two first dated as teenagers and reconnected in 2018.
