Nicole Kidman Reveals How Her Daughters Reacted To Her Oscar Nomination [Watch]
Nicole Kidman is very much excited about her Academy Award nomination, but it seems her daughters are not that thrilled.
Kidman Kidman was nominated in the best actress category for her role in "Being the Ricardos," which was released last December.
The 54-year-old actress revealed that she was unaware of her nominations and was enjoying her breakfast with family until she received a call on FaceTime.
"I get a FaceTime call and my kids are like, 'Your phone's going off, someone's FaceTiming you, Mom,'" she recalled during an interview with The View on Thursday. "And I pick it up and they go, 'You've just been nominated for an Oscar.'"
Kidman noted that she "started crying" because "there was so much emotion attached to it that I didn't realize I was carrying, and I just looked around and tears were coming down."
The actress further shared how her daughters – Sunday Rose, 13, and Faith Margaret, 11 – reacted to the news. "My kids are looking at me, like, 'wow, congrats, mom.' Anyway, we're going to be late. We better get going," she said.
While Kidman's daughters were not as emotional as the actress, they have always been supportive.
"They're always a part of every decision, because, obviously, the family has to come and has to support," she said. "I'm asking for them to let me go and do it and take time away from them. It was a group decision."
The actress also shared how her daughters help her prepare for roles. "When I was preparing, they were my audience," she explained. "I'd sit them on the couch and I'd do it and they'd be saying, 'Hey, you got a lot more work to do.'"
Kidman won an Oscar Award in 2002 for her role in "The Hours." She also bagged the best actress nomination for "Moulin Rouge!" in 2001 and "Rabbit Hole" in 2010. She received a best-supporting actress nomination in 2016 for her role in "Lion."
The actress married Keith Urban in 2006 and welcomed Sunday Rose in 2008. She welcomed her second daughter through surrogacy in 2011. Kidman was married to Tom Cruise from 1990 to 2001. The former couple has two adopted kids – Isabella Jane, 29, and Connor, 27.
Kidman will be next seen in the movies "The Northman" and "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom." She is currently filming the TV series "Roar."
