Square Enix will release “NieR: Automata” on the PS4 platform on March 7, and because the role-playing video game was also designed for launch on the PC platform, PC players are hoping to get their hands on it really soon. Well, it seems that that “really soon” now has a date, and fans of the Takahisa Taura-designed game do not need to wait that long.

Just this Thursday, Square Enix updated its Japanese support site for “NieR: Automata,” as well as the game’s preorder page on the company’s online store. Both pages now indicate that the game is set to arrive on Steam on March 17, 2017, which is two weeks from today. This is good news to fans who patiently waited for the game that was announced at E3 2015.

“Nier: Automata” is the sequel to 2010’s “Nier.” It is set in a proxy war between the remaining humans and the machines that were formed by otherworldly invaders. Humans have formed an army of android soldiers, called YoRha, to counter the attacks of the deadly machines. The main protagonist of this game is YoRHa No. 2 Model B or 2B, a female android that is calm and composed most of the time but displays great strength and determination when faced with the invaders’ mechanical horde.

Previously, many thought the game was arriving on the PC platform on March 10 because of a leak, as per PC Gamer. However, it is now clear that Square Enix is bringing the game to Steam at a later date — 10 days later than the PS4 release to be exact. Anyway, this gap is actually a miracle in disguise because it will give PC players enough time to preorder the game on Steam. Preordering it would secure them with the exclusive digital bonus content, which is now revealed to be the “valve character accessory.”
