Nike Releases Kylian Mbappe’s First Signature Boots

Nike just presented Kylian Mbappe’s first signature boots to the public. Officially named as "Bondy Dreams" Mercurial, the French professional footballer revealed the story behind the signed produce and said that the collaboration with the acclaimed sports apparel brand is a fulfillment of a childhood ambition.

“Bondy is always in my heart; it’s where I found and fell in love with football,” says Mbappe. “It helped shape me as a person and as a player. I have a lot to be thankful for and it is special that Bondy is at the center of this collection. Back then I had my heroes and many of them had their own special edition Nike boot, so to join them in now having one of my own is a dream come true.”

The full Nike x Mbappe Bondy collection is a Europe exclusive offer that also includes an Air Max 98, a Nike F.C. jersey, hoodie, T-shirt, hip pack, cap, and a football.

"All are infused with the swagger Mbappé brings to the pitch and his enduring love for Bondy, the Parisian suburb he grew up in," Nike said of the collection.

The boot is distinctly called the Nike Mercurial Superfly VII Elite Mbappe Bondy Dreams soccer cleats which have the official color combo of Vast Grey / Metallic Vivid Gold / Electro Green.

According to Football Headlines, the boot is “a very unusual look with futuristic shapes in different shades of green creeping onto the grey upper.”

“It's likely inspired by Mbappe's journey as a youngster from the streets of his hometown Bondy, a northeastern Paris suburb (grey), to the pitches on the biggest stage (green grass, golden for the World Cup trophy),” the review added.
