Nina Dobrev, Austin Stowell Had ‘Great Genuine Connection’ At ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Star’s Birthday Party

Nina Dobrev and Austin Stowell who have been dating for months seemed to have “great genuine connection” at Dobrev's 27th birthday Friday. Dobrev threw an emoji-themed party for her birthday and was dressed like a cat.

“They seem super happy together," a source told Us Weekly, referring to the couple. "They have a really great genuine connection."

Dobrev, dressed in a black cat suit, painted her face golden and briefly pole-danced while wearing a cardboard cutout showing "frequently used" emojis. Her boyfriend Stowell dressed up like a panda emoji.

"It was a great birthday," a source told E! News. "Nina was so happy so many of her close friends turned out. It was a big party. Austin and Nina were really cute together and you can tell how much they care about each other," the insider added.

In October 2015, Dobrev and Stowell confirmed on a casual Twitter post that they were dating after the actor realized he wasn’t following his girlfriend on the social media platform.
