Nintendo Switch Pro Rumors Spark Anew After Game's Official Screenshot Surfaced Online
KEY POINTS
- Nintendo may have hinted at the rumored Switch Pro recently
- Nintendo did not announce the Switch Pro at its recent E3 2021 Direct showcase
- Rumors have it that the Switch Pro supports 4K graphics when in docked mode
Although Japanese gaming giant Nintendo did not confirm the rumored Switch Pro at its E3 2021 E3 showcase, fans are hopeful that the supposed upgraded version of the hybrid console could be announced very soon after official screenshots of "Anima Crossing: New Horizons" surfaced online recently.
The said "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" screenshot was discovered and shared by Animal Crossing World. The image, which was officially shared by Nintendo, seems to have a higher resolution compared to the standard ones that Nintendo usually releases. The report claimed that the images were uploaded at 5670 x 3240 resolution, which is strange since "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" only runs at 1920 x 1080p on the Nintendo Switch.
Moreover, the report noted that if users viewed the image using a high-resolution device, like a PC running at 4K, Twitter will load it at a 4K-like resolution, which is 4096 x 2304. When using the Twitter mobile app, users can see the Load In 4K option on the tweet to initiate a much higher resolution version of the image. The site also suggested that users can adjust the image URL manually to trigger the 5760 x 3240 resolution.
Interestingly, the report noted that this is not the first instance that Nintendo uploaded a higher (than usual) resolution image for "Animal Crossing: New Horizons." According to them, after conducting an in-depth analysis, all major Twitter accounts of the game for Japan, North America and the UK have uploaded this kind of image over the past months.
This claim triggered speculations among Nintendo Switch Pro fans. Some wonder if these higher resolution screenshots were taken using the heavily rumored Switch Pro. According to earlier rumors, the supposed upgraded version of the hybrid console supports 4K resolution when in docked mode. However, in the absence of an official announcement or confirmation from the Japanese gaming giant, fans should temper their expectations and take it as highly speculative at this stage.
The Nintendo Switch Pro is believed to be the upgraded version of the Switch. The said gaming console is reportedly in development. Unfortunately, despite the rumors and leaks surrounding the upcoming gaming system, Nintendo has not yet confirmed that the Switch Pro is in the works.
