Noah Cyrus Blasts Fox News For Blurring Her Nude Outfit, ‘It's Skin Tone Underwear’
Noah Cyrus put Fox News on blast on Thursday after the outlet had much to say about her skin-toned colored outfit from her 2020 CMT Music Awards performance.
The 20-year-old singer performed on the CMT stage on Wednesday with Jimmie Allen, singing “This Is Us.” Her outfit was “space cowgirl” inspired and included a full skin-toned bodysuit and underwear that had rhinestones thoughtfully placed throughout.
Cyrus paired the outfit with tall white cowgirl boots, a sparkly white cowgirl hat, and long white gloves to top it off. While her getup was the talk of social media on Thursday, she wasn’t afraid to give Fox News a piece of her mind for their coverage of the event.
The outlet blurred out the top of her thighs with a thick black line in a photo that was posted inside of the article about Noah’s outfit. In response, the singer took to her Instagram Story and posted the article's photo, saying, “@foxnews, it’s skin tone underwear but thanks for blurring my thighs. Vote Biden!”
As for some of her fans and CMT views, the public was divided on what to think about her outfit choice. Some loved her creativity and ability to be herself, while others thought it was out of line.
One Twitter user said, “Sorry but your outfit you wore on CMT was not appropriate. Disappointed that CMT allowed it. Maybe she was confused of being Cher. Just saying.”
Another stated, “OKAY @JimmieAllen & @noahcyrus win for OUTFITS of the night!!! #CMTawards #CMTMusicAwards.”
Cyrus even snapped back at some Twitter users that replied to CMT’s tweet of her and Allen's performance. In two separate tweets to critics, she wrote, “Honey, your granddaughter will wear that someday,” and “my body my choice, [expletive].”
To date, the performer has continued to post about her CMT appearance on social media. If there’s anything the public knows about the Cyrus family, it’s that they aren’t afraid to be themselves.
