Nokia Lumia 800 to be Launched in U.S. as Special Bundle Item for $899 on Valentine's Day: Report
Microsoft is going to launch Nokia's latest smartphone Lumia 800 in the U.S. as a special bundle device for $899. The news has come from The Verge that said, citing sources close to Microsoft's Lumia launch plans, the special bundle would be launched Feb. 14.
Along with Nokia Lumia 800, the bundle will also include a Nokia Play 360 Wireless Speaker, Purity HD Stereo Headset, and an in-ear Bluetooth headset.
Microsoft plans to launch the special bundle on February 14th and the Lumia 800 will not be made available separately, at least initially, The Verge reported.
The report stated that the stand-alone Lumia 800 will be made available unlocked from Microsoft's retail stores. The device will not come with any carrier support and will initially be aimed at Valentine's Day and gift shoppers. The recently announced white edition of Lumia 800 would also be stocked soon, the report added.
Although consumers would be getting an unlocked Lumia 800, along with a bundle of solid accessories, the set price of $899 seems a bit steep, according to a BGR report.
After all, AT&T will be launching the sub-$100 Lumia 900 with 4G LTE support and a bigger screen just one month later, BGR reported.
