North Carolina Man Kidnaps Another Man, Forces Him To Commit Sex Offenses; Arrested

A North Carolina man was arrested for allegedly kidnapping another man and forcing him to participate in sex offenses.
The incident came to light last week when the victim showed up at the Roanoke Rapids Police Department stating that he was being held against his will by a man with a weapon.
The deputies were unable to locate the man when the victim reported the abuse, but deputies with the Roanoke Rapids Police Department then arrested the accused, Antonio Avent, 38, on Sunday. Police said when an officer with the police department attempted to serve an arrest warrant at Vidant North Hospital, Avent managed to escape.
He was captured shortly after on Buffaloe Street where police also found the victim's cellphone and drug paraphernalia, authorities said in a statement.
"On April 30, 2022, at approximately 9:59 pm Officer J. Wind responded to the Roanoke Rapids Police Department in regards to a subject waiting there to report an incident to law enforcement. Upon speaking with the victim, it was learned he was a victim of a kidnapping, assault and a felony larceny," the statement read. "The victim explained to the officer how he was held against his will while the suspect had a weapon."
Avent was charged with Kidnapping, felony larceny, forced sex offenses, resist delay and obstruct, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held against $61,000 and is scheduled to appear in court on May 23 and May 26, WITN-TV reported.
In June 2021, a Tennessee man was arrested after he allegedly raped his parole officer and held her against her will. He allegedly overpowered the federal employee and snatched the gun before pinning her down, beating her, and sexually assaulting her. The officer was slapped with multiple charges including aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and theft of property.
