Manchester United are in a fix as Marcus Rashford’s injury has turned out to be “more severe” than it was expected and if the striker ever plays again this season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that it will be “touch and go.”

The star forward, who has netted 19 times for the Old Trafford club this season, is reportedly also doubtful for year’s big international tournament, UEFA Euro.

The Man Utd boss spoke at a press conference ahead of his side’s Thursday Europa League match against Club Bruges, where he was revealed the news about Rashford’s slow recovery.

When he was quizzed about Rashford’s availability for the Euro 2020, Solskjaer replied, "I hope he would play before the end of the season but if he is not fit then he won't go.”

Speaking further about his player’s current situation, Man Utd manager added, "We can't rush him. Hopefully, he will play again this season but it will be touch and go towards the end.”

Last month, the Norwegian had refused to give any assurances regarding Rashford’s return for the end of the season, saying the forward would need at least six weeks before he can be declared fit to resume training.

“It has taken time. I'm not a doctor but obviously, I was hoping that he would recover quicker than it looks like he is going to. It looks like he is going to be out for a few months definitely. He had a scan and it is more severe than we expected. When it heals he'll be stronger for it so we can't rush him,” Solksjaer added, as reported by BBC.

Solskjaer has been bugged quite often these days regarding Paul Pogba’s future in the club. The midfielder, who has played only twice since September, currently is recovering from an injury he sustained during the Boxing Day game.

Man Utd boss once again has made it clear that Pogba is not close to making his first-team return any time soon. “Paul has not been part of the team training yet, so it'll depend on how he feels or when he feels ready to do that, so he's not anywhere near that yet,” the manager added.
