‘From Not To Hot’ Star Mama June On 2-Year Sobriety: ‘It Has Not Been An Easy Road’

Mama June Shannon has decided to share her story as she celebrates two years of being “clean and sober.”

The 42-year-old reality star announced on TikTok Thursday that she’s going live at 8 p.m. ET to talk about her journey to sobriety. In the clip she shared, Mama June said it hasn’t been easy for her, but she’s managed to stay clean for two years without any relapses.

“Hey, guys! What’s up? It’s your girl, Mama June. And today is Thursday, but it’s also my sobriety day of two years, clean and sober. No relapses. And let me tell you guys, it has not been an easy road,” she said.

The “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” star went on to say that she’s decided to go live at a later time to tell her story and have some people join her to talk about theirs.

Mama June’s post quickly received a flurry of positive messages from her fans and followers, who were proud and happy for her after everything she’s been through.

“I’m so happy for you. You go girl. Stay strong. You so got this,” one wrote.

“I am so proud of you [Mama June] Keep up the hard work queen,” another commented.

“Congratulations! We are so proud of you,” a third added.

It’s no secret that Mama June battled with substance addiction years ago. She even got arrested in March 2019 alongside her ex-boyfriend, Geno Doak, 46, for drug-related charges.

Months after the arrest, she revealed that she had entered rehab and was determined to work on her relationship with her daughters, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, 16, and Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, 21. Both of whom she ditched at the peak of her addiction to be with Geno.

In August of last year, Mama June disclosed on social media that she broke up with Geno after getting clean because the latter was still not over his alcohol problem.

After their split, Mama June told her fans on social media that she was ready to “leave the past behind” and work on becoming a “better version” of herself.

Last week, the “Mama June: From Not To Hot” star officially confirmed her newfound romance with 34-year-old tattoo artist Justin Stroud. The couple was photographed enjoying the outdoors in California, and they even packed on the PDA while hiking in Runyon Canyon.
