Notre Dame Headed to ACC: Fighting Irish Leaving Big East Conference [REPORT]
Notre Dame is on their way out of the Big East.
According to a report by ESPN's Brett McMurphy, the Fighting Irish will join the ACC. The move will not include the school's football team, which is currently an independent.
Notre dame would be the third Big East team to go to the ACC in the past year. Syracuse and Pittsburgh are both set to join the ACC in 2013. This is their last year in the Big East.
West Virginia also left to the conference. The joined the SEC.
Teams that are leaving the Big East must give the conference 27 months' notice. However, the Irish could possibly leave early if they pay a high exit fee.
