Rumors about the release date of Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti have been rife online but the company has not yet revealed its plan to launch the graphics cards. Apparently, a slip-up made by a computer hardware company may have hinted at the imminent release of the much-awaited graphics card.
Computer hardware company MSI may have jumped the gun ahead of Nvidia's official announcement when it uploaded to its official website a product category of the rumored GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card series. Earlier, consumers could visit the company's site and it would navigate them to Products, Graphics Cards, then to Nvidia GPU so they could see the list of available products from the chipmaker. Visitors could even filter their search based on the GPU, which included the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti.
The inclusion of the upcoming Nvidia graphics card on MSI's website was spotted and shared on Twitter by industry insider momo_us. At the time of this publication, MSI has scrubbed the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti on its official site. This is not the first time that the industry has seen leaks like this one.
A few days earlier, MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Suprim X graphics cards were spotted for sale in a certain store in UAE. The leak was eventually shared on Reddit. The upcoming graphics card features 10, 240 CUDA cores, 80 RT cores, and 320 Tensor cores based on previous leaks. It is also anticipated to have a base clock of 1365 MHz and a boost clock of 1665 MHz.
In terms of TGP, the graphics card is set at 320 Watts -- a necessary wattage to feed the extra cores. The GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is also rumored to house a 12 GB of GDDR6X across a 384-bit memory bus. As for its price, earlier leaks suggested that the graphics card has an MSRP of $999.
However, since it might be hard to get a piece of the RTX 3080 Ti when it officially launches, consumers should expect it to be offered at a much higher price than its MSRP. Nvidia would reportedly announce the GeForce RTX 3080 and GeForce RTX 3080 Ti in May. The graphics cards would be available in stores in June, according to rumors.
