NYC Stabbing Suspect Attacks Nurse With Scissors, Pounces At Police Officer In Hospital
A stabbing suspect who was taken to a hospital in New York City for some minor injuries ended up attacking a nurse with a pair of scissors before pouncing on a police officer. The incident was caught on camera.
Luis Medina, 30, was arrested last Saturday for allegedly stabbing a 41-year-old woman in the Bronx following a domestic dispute. Medina had suffered minor injuries while tussling with the woman and was taken to the Bronx Hospital, US Time Today reported, citing the New York Police Department (NYPD) officials. The unidentified victim was taken to another hospital. She is in serious but stable condition, police said.
While at the hospital, the man appeared furious and he picked up a pair of scissors and charged at a nurse who was treating him. A police camera video obtained by the New York Post shows Medina attacking the 26-year-old nurse with his free left hand and hitting her on the head.
The nurse, who wasn't seriously injured, rushes out of the room. Following this, the suspect, who had his right wrist tied to the side of the bed, jumped to the ground and repeatedly tried to attack a police officer present at the scene.
Medina slipped and fell down as the cop retrieved his stun gun and tasered him before rushing out of the room. The man was charged with multiple assaults and criminal possession of weapons.
Last November, a man, who was convicted of murder and was released from prison, was rearrested for attacking two cops with a hatchet in Florida. When the officers went to 61-year-old Mitchell Albritton's home after receiving reports of a possible hostage situation, the man told them he was armed and tried to shut the door. The deputies managed to force the door open, but Albritton attacked them with a hatchet. Two officers were injured, while a third person managed to arrest the suspect. They also rescued three people from the house, who were all covered in blood.
