10 Hottest New Male Models At New York Fashion Week
UPDATE: 7.30 p.m. EDT The legend that is Common performed at the Cadillac#NYFWM opening night event!
UPDATE: 7.15 p.m. EDT Saw Kammer & Stoudt earlier also. We thought the earthy boho vibe was cool with relaxed linen pajama styles and some awesome palm frond hats.
UPDATE: 7.00 p.m. EDT Also part of the earlier New York Mens Day presentation was the Rideau SS17 Collection. The brand showed a series of short sets in neutral colors plus some mustard and terracotta hues but the highlight for us was this silk Chinese print shorts suit shown with gold hightop sneakers
UPDATE: 7.00 p.m. EDT Earlier at the second part of the New York Mens Day presentation we saw Private Policy NY which was based on slave labor in the South Asia fishing industry. You can read more about that here. That translated into a collection with chain link body harnesses, windowpane/grid tartan and a fabric that looked as if it was made from red hazardous waste bags (below)
UPDATE: 6.15 p.m. EDT We're watching the Oak SS17 presentation at The Hole on Bowery. It's their first time presenting at NYFWM. Edgy streetwear, mesh tanks, high-waisted leather shorts, bomber jackets, paint splattered sneakers and acid washed denim.
By the way, if you are wondering which bloggers to follow this week ... here are seven you need to know about.
UPDATE: 4.45 p.m. EDT We're now viewing the second part of New York Men's Day and from Uri Minkoff, bomber jackets, blazers, jumpsuits, blue camouflage, socks and sandals. It was a performance presentation inspired by time and "the idea of slowing it down and isolating key moments." Influenced by a trip to Lake Como, Italy. The performance was in collaboration with artists Gerard & Kelly.
UPDATE: 3.40 p.m. EDT More shows coming up from Chapter, Krammer & Stoudt, Private Policy, Rideau, Robert James and Uri Minkoff. In the meantime, if you'd like to see what the FT editors are wearing to the NYFW mens shows and events click here; you can shop their picks too!
UPDATE: 2.40 p.m. EDT If you'd like to see the inspirations behind some of the NYFW Men's Collections click on this link, From PLAC, who showed earlier today, "Inspired by David Hockney's artwork. Contemporary interpretations of his classic '60s attitude."
UPDATE: 1.00 p.m. EDT #BTS on the cover shoot for the #NYFWM edition of @theimpression_. Read more on CFDA.com
UPDATE: 11.00 a.m. EDT Moving on to New York Men's Day and a showcase of emerging designers at Industria Superstudios. This season it's the turn of David Hart, David Naman, Max 'N Chester, Maiden Noir, PLAC and Wood House.
Watching Max 'N Chester (above) ...chambray loungewear, all-white looks and espadrilles. Looks as if linen is going to be a key fabric this season.
The PLAC collection (above) inspired by the artist David Hockney, '60s vibe, black and white graphic stripes, garments in neutral shades, classic streetwear. Set Design by Thomas Petherick @thomaspetherick
From David Naman (above) Hawaiian and tropical prints, bomber jackets, pale pink linen suiting, patchwork denim, suede sneakers, fringe and tassel details, sheer knits.
At Wood House geometric prints, denim robes, loungewear and mesh fabric.
Click here for a slide show of the complete collection on Fashion Times.
UPDATE: 9.50 a.m. EDT We are at the Perry Ellis presentation. Nick Cannon just walked in!
Collection has lots of casual, sporty flair, parkas and track suits... loving the suede bomber jackets, and linen suiting. Color palette includes navy, army green, stone, spruce and lapis.
