The New York Police Department has been looking for two men who allegedly assaulted a Burger King employee because they believed their food wasn't prepared soon enough.
The incident took place at the hamburger chain’s Linden Boulevard location in Brownsville around 6.14 p.m. on Dec. 4, Good Word News reported, citing cops. Authorities released video footage on NYPD's Twitter handle Monday, which showed one of the suspects jumping a guard wall and tussling with the employee.
The situation soon escalated into a physical fight and the two suspects reportedly punched the 22-year-old victim's face repeatedly. One of the suspects even flashed a knife during the assault, according to the description of the post. In the clip, the suspects were clad in black clothes with their faces covered.
The duo then fled the scene, and was seen on Powell Street, according to the New York Post. The NYPD asked anyone with information about the incident to contact them at 800-577-TIPS or DM @NYPDTips.
The victim was treated at the spot by the Emergency Medical Services, and was expected to soon recover from his injuries.
The video was shared shortly after New York City's new mayor, Eric Adams, rode the subway train to City Hall for his first day on the job, just hours after his swearing-in ceremony was held in Times Square alongside the New Year celebrations. Adams, 61, vowed to take a tougher stance on crime than his predecessor Bill de Blasio.
In April 2021, the authorities in Tennessee were looking for an unidentified woman after she opened fire inside a Burger King drive-thru window because she was apparently unhappy over her food being delivered late. The customer argued with the employees at first, and then discharged her weapon into the drive-thru window. The employees immediately took cover from the hail of bullets. Authorities said no one was harmed during the incident. The woman was accompanied by a male, and the duo fled the scene in a car after the shooting. The police said at the time that they were investigating the incident.
