Obama And Bush Meet To Unveil Portraits In Rare White House Event
President 44 will be hosting President 43 in a rare reunion at the White House on Thursday, for the unveiling of George W. Bush and Former First Lady Laura Bush's portraits.
According to the White House calendar, President Obama and First Lady Michelle will meet with Bush, Jr., Laura and other Bush family members for lunch at 12:10 p.m. ET before the official unveiling with Vice President Joe Biden, Former President George H.W. Bush and Former First Lady Barbara Bush at 1:25 p.m. ET.
George W. Bush has rarely had a moment in the spotlight since his presidency - Associated Press White House Correspondent Ben Feller notes he hasn't been to the White House in two years, when he was helping out with Haiti humanitarian relief in January 2010.
Obama has been indirectly talking trash about the former President in his re-election campaign, criticizing the past administration for its handling of the country's finances and foreign policy.
Bush made a lukewarm endorsement of Republican Mitt Romney earlier this month when he was pressed on the matter, ABC News reported.
