Obama's Chrysler on eBay: An ‘Old-School Conservative’ Auctions Off Sedan at $1M
For a minimum of one million dollars, President Barack Obama's old 2005 Chrysler 300C could be yours.
An Illinois woman who identifies herself as Lisa is selling the president's old car from his Senator days on eBay with a starting bid of $1,000,000. She promises she has the original paperwork and the title show this vehicle was actually used by Barack.
The charcoal sedan, complete with a sunroof and beige leather seats, appears to be in mint condition in the 20 pictures posted on eBay. The current owner writes that Obama dove over 19,000 miles in the car from 2004 into the summer of 2007, before he traded it for a much more green 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid.
Lisa doesn't explain how the vehicle got into her possession, but mentions she is a life-long, Ronald-Reagan, old-school conservative.
Yes, it is ironic I am ebaying a car used by Barack Hussein Obama--but if it does sell, some of the money will 'trickle-down' to me, and please don't fault me for being a free-market capitalist doing whatever I can to have some of the economy brought to my small Illinois farm town of Ottawa, Lisa rights.
Fox News reported the same car appeared on the online auctioning site three years before, with a starting bid of $100,000, but phony bidders pushed the price up to $1 billion dollars.
Lisa argues that the price is appropriate considering how much other world leaders' former cars have auctioned off for. She mentions how Iranian President Ahmadinejad's Peugeot sold for $2.5 million and a Ford Escort GL once owned by Pope John Paul II fetched $690,000.
Neither of those figures have anything on James Bond, whose car--a 1964 Aston Martin DB5 that was used in the films--sold for a whopping $4.1 million in 2010.
As of Wednesday night, there were no bidders. The auction runs until 10:30 PM next Wednesday night.
