The Obamas' First Kiss Gets Immortalized On A Plaque In Hyde Park

As political pundits are scrutinizing the campaign moves of President Barack Obama and Republican Mitt Romney ahead of the November Presidential poll, there's another report that is being hogged with equal intensity - immortalization of the Obamas' first kiss.

Though Obama has often recalled the story of his first meeting with Michelle, when they worked in the same law firm, now there's historical marker that is featured in the spot where they shared their kiss, The Caucus reported.

Obamas and Michelle shared their first kiss outside a Hyde Park Baskin Robbins, which has since evolved into a Subway restaurant, the Huffington Post noted.

Inscribed below a photo of the young couple is a quote from the President Obama borrowed from a February 2007 feature in O, The Oprah Magazine: "On our first date, I treated her to the finest ice cream Baskin-Robbins had to offer, our dinner table doubling as the curb. I kissed her, and it tasted like chocolate."

The Obamas are expected celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary this October.

The plaque is made of granite and is erected at the corner of Dorchester Avenue and 53rd Street not far from the Obamas' Kenwood home.
