Ohio Child Abuse: 6-Year-Old Slammed To Ground, Arm Fractured, Caretaker Arrested
An Ohio man was arrested and charged with child endangerment on Tuesday after assaulting a 6-year-old boy. The incident took place while the child was staying the man, identified as 32-year-old Bryant Jackson Sr., at the 4000 block of Madison Road in Liberty.
According to local reports, a woman called police saying that her child had been injured. She said that when she went to pick up her kids on Saturday, her son had been crying. When she asked Jackson what happened, he told her, “I had to fix his little attitude.”
The kids told the woman that Jackson slammed the boy to the ground, causing him to fall down the stairs, resulting in his arm to fracture. She said the child couldn’t move his right arm beyond wiggling his fingers.
The 6-year-old, who has not been identified, was taken to the hospital for treatment and had to wear a sling to support the fractured arm.
In another child abuse case, a man in Salem, Alabama, was charged with child abuse for striking his one-month-old daughter in face and head. Sheriff’s deputies responded to 300 block of Lee Road 2110 in the Salem community on May 11 after receiving a report that a baby was found with bruises. After officers arrived at the scene, they rushed the infant to a hospital in Phenix City where the baby was treated for her injuries.
An investigation was launched during which the detectives determined that the infant suffered injuries after she was struck in the face and head by her father, who was identified as 19-year-old Ty Allen Mason.
Following an investigation, the man was taken into custody and charged with torture and willful abuse of a child. The accused was being held in the Lee County Detention Center and his bond was set at $10,000.
