Ohio Man Gets Arrested After Plan To Ambush, Rob And Kill Federal Agents Failed

Not even the coronavirus pandemic can stop an Ohio man from planning to ambush federal agents. The man was arrested last Friday after his plan to ambush, kill and rob federal law agents was discovered by the FBI.

Christian Stanley Ferguson, 20, was arrested by agents at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Fox News reported. This happened after authorities discovered several posts by Ferguson containing violent and extremist threats. This was tracked down on the cross-platform application Discord, where he revealed plans of a tactical nature on how to kill a number of agents and dispose of their bodies discreetly.

Those plans turned out to be superficial as his real goal was to rob them of their weapons and "start an uprising." This was revealed through a complaint filed by federal authorities Tuesday. The entirety of Ferguson's plans were revealed further when he expressed his desire to goad law enforcement to respond to initiating a false crime in progress, the complaint said.

"He ultimately facilitated a hoax distress call within the boundaries of the National Park to gauge response time by park rangers," the complaint added. "Ferguson believed four federal officers arrived and indicated that if that many officers respond to the real event, they would likely have to kill them all."

Those alleged meetings were monitored by the FBI, Fox News reported, citing the complaint.

As to why federal authorities were his choice, he reportedly thought about taking their "quality" firearms and body armor. Prior to his arrest, Ferguson has met with several individuals from the Discord chatrooms to discuss his plans on several occasions.

Ferguson, who was caught by the same authorities enforcing the COVID-19 quarantine, was charged with attempted kidnapping. He has been in FBI custody since Tuesday.
