Ohio Man Kills Mother Of His Infant Child Amid Custody Dispute
A man fatally shot the mother of his infant amid custody dispute over the child. The incident took place in Fayette County, Ohio, on Monday.
According to local reports, the victim, identified as 20-year-old Lilliana Null, and the accused, 21-year-old Joseph Brown, had recently separated. On Monday, when Null was dropping off the child for visitation at Brown’s residence, an argument ensued between the mother and the father. In a fit of rage, Brown took out a gun and shot Null behind the apartment building.
Some people saw the accused exiting the apartment complex with a gun and immediately informed the police. The responding officers found the victim’s body behind the building with multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the accused was taken into custody. The infant was not hurt in the incident.
Brown was charged with aggravated murder and remained in Fayette County Jail. He was set to appear in Washington Court House Municipal Court on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the infant was taken into custody by Fayette County Children’s Services.
Investigation into the incident was ongoing and the Fayette County Sheriff's Office said the incident appears to stem from a custody battle over the child.
