Ohio Power Outage Update: Thousands Left Without Electricity As Storm Batters Miami Valley
Thousands of people have been left without power after a storm knocked out the electricity poles and power lines in Ohio's Miami Valley Thursday night. AES Ohio reported that nearly 23,000 customers are in the dark.

Gusts of winds of up to 60 mph resulted in downed trees and power lines in the area. Other customers of energy providers in Ohio such as AEP, First Energy and Duke Energy are also reportedly experiencing blackouts.
Currently, 3,506 AEP customer outages have been reported in Ohio. The counties with the highest number of outages are Scioto with 950, Franklin with 677 and Richland with 397. FirstEnergy reported more than 6,000 outages in Cuyahoga and more than 4,000 outages in Richland.

Storm Team 2 Meteorologist Jamie Jarosik said that the winds with gust up to 60 mph are expected to continue until 6 or 7 a.m. Friday.
The National Weather Service issued a high wind warning late Thursday that is believed to continue until noon for several counties in Ohio, including Cuyahoga, Lorain, Erie, Huron and Medina.
Cleveland Public Power also reported “outages all over the city.”
As forecasted high winds with gusts up to 63 mph have started and we have outages all over the city. Our trouble crews are out working and will be supplemented by the day shift as they come in this morning.
