An Ohio woman was charged with murder Saturday for allegedly shooting her husband, according to police. Authorities also said that it appeared the man was dismembered and the woman lived with his body parts for several months.

Marcia Eubank, 49, was taken into custody Saturday and charged with the killing of her husband Howard L. Eubank, 54.

Police were called to the Eubank house in Coventry Township, Ohio, when the Eubank’s 23-year-old son discovered what he thought were human remains in plastic containers. The son texted his mother to ask about what was in the containers and she responded that it was the remains of his dad and that he should probably call the police, according to Summit County Sheriff Steve Barry.

The son climbed into the house through a window after being locked out and saw maggots and smelled a strong odor, according to Fox News.

“I just found out my mom killed my dad and I found the pieces of his body in the house,” said the Eubank’s son in a 911 call.

Authorities said the woman admitted to shooting her husband in the back of the head Jun. 13 and then dismembering him with an electrical saw and other tools— and living with the remains.

“This was a very gruesome scene,” said Barry to WEWS, a Cleveland ABC affiliate. “Very disturbing.”

Authorities said officially identifying the remains as the husband's may take some time.

“Due to the decomposition and condition of the body, this process will take additional time,” Gary Guenther, chief investigator for the medical examiner’s office, said in a statement.

Police say they believed the alleged murder was the result of a domestic incident.

A neighbor, Bill Channel, told the Akron Beacon-Journal he overheard the wife give her husband an ultimatum to quit drinking in June. Channel believed that Howard Eubank was in Texas. The Eubank’s son, who lived in the home on and off, also received a text from his dad’s phone saying that he was in Texas. The text was sent after the alleged murder.

Marcia Eubank was booked into the Summit County Jail and her bail was set at $1 million. She was set to appear in court again Wednesday.
