An Ohio woman, who was upset over her incomplete KFC order, reportedly called 911 to complain about the issue, the authorities said.
The Euclid Police Department said Chagrin Valley Dispatch 911 received a call Tuesday from an unidentified woman, who said she was given only four chicken pieces as opposed to the eight pieces she paid for at the KFC drive-thru, Miami Herald reported.
"I want my chicken," the woman told the dispatcher, insisting on the intervention of the law enforcement to help her get all her "chicken."
Authorities responded to the KFC fast-food restaurant on 26021 Euclid Avenue shortly before 7.30 p.m. ET. "I only got four pieces of chicken and I want my chicken," the woman told the arriving authorities.
The dispatcher then told the customer it was a civil matter, which she only could solve by talking to the store manager, but the woman kept pressing for a deputy to be sent to the scene. Following this, a police officer arrived at the eatery, and told the woman there was nothing he could do about her issue.
Euclid Police Chief Scott Meyer said the incident serves as a reminder that people shouldn't abuse the emergency numbers for non-emergency issues, Breitbart reported.
“While we are here to serve the public an incorrect drive-through order is not a police matter,” Meyer told WJW-TV.
It was not clear if any action was taken against the woman.
In June 2020, a Florida woman was arrested after she called 911 four times to ask for a ride to another city. In one of the calls, she even complained to the dispatchers the officers were not providing her the service she asked for -- a taxpayer-sponsored taxi ride. Winter Haven Police Department said in a Facebook post the woman dialed 911 and hung up just after saying "Hello." Authorities responded to the location of the call, but couldn't locate her. Dispatchers received another call just minutes later, but it got disconnected again. The officers then found 31-year-old Sarah Alameh at the parking lot of the hospital, saying she was the one who called because she needed a ride to another city. She was arrested and charged with one count of Misuse of 911.
