A triple murder suspect from Oklahoma has confessed to killing his neighbor, cutting out her heart and cooking it with potatoes.
Lawrence Paul Anderson, 42, has been accused of murdering his neighbor Andrea Lynn Blankenship, 41, at her home on Feb. 9. He has also been linked to the killing of his uncle Leon Pye, 61, and Leon's granddaughter, Kaeos Yaes, 4, at the home where he was staying.
Anderson admitted to the investigators that he had killed Blankenship and cut her heart out. "He took the heart back to 214 West Minnesota, Chickasha […] He cooked the heart with potatoes to feed to his family to release the demons," an Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) agent wrote in the search application, reported news outlet Oklahoman.
Anderson, a convicted felon, was released from jail on Jan. 18 and moved in with his aunt Delsie Pye and uncle Leon, reported news outlet Law & Crime.
When the police responded to the scene on Feb. 9, they found Leon dead and his granddaughter Yates critically injured. Yates was transported to the hospital but was later pronounced dead. Delsie reportedly had injuries to her eyes and Anderson was seen throwing up into the pillows at the scene.
The investigators learned about Blankenship's murder two days later when Anderson was interviewed at the hospital while being treated for injuries. Anderson reportedly admitted that he had broken into his neighbor's house and cut her heart out.
"He used his shoulder to knock in the back door. There were two German Shepherd dogs in the house. Anderson advised he killed the female resident and cut her heart out," the OSBI report said.
Anderson has a long history of repeated imprisonment. He was first convicted in 2006 for attacking his girlfriend and possessing cocaine. Although he was sentenced to four years in prison, he was released in 2008. He was jailed again in 2012. He was sentenced to 15 years for selling cocaine near an elementary school but was released after serving only five years.
He was sent back to prison in December 2017 to serve 20 more years on the sentencing of new crimes and after revoking his probation in full. He was released after five months and was arrested again for carrying a gun, which was illegal because of previous convictions. At the jail, a detention officer found a vial of PCP hidden in his underwear. Anderson then pleaded guilty to gun and drug offenses.
"This has to be addressed by the Legislature, sooner rather than later, because more people are going to get killed," Grady County District Attorney Jason Hicks said.
It is unclear if Anderson was under the influence of drugs on Feb. 9. During his guilty plea in 2017, however, he told the court that he has bipolar disorder.
Anderson was booked to Grady County Jail after being released from the hospital on Feb. 15.
