KEY POINTS

  • Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was asked on who among his teammates would he pick to suit up for his club
  • Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Scholes and Roy Keane were Solskjaer's choices for his team
  • Ronaldo remains to be a one of the best while Scholes and Keane have put up legendary careers themselves

The history of Manchester United has been rich with world-class talent gracing their roster. There’s never a shortage of promising talent but if given the chance, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed that he’d bring back Cristiano Ronaldo, Roy Keane and Paul Scholes to the roster in a hypothetical dream situation.

Per Red Devil Armada, Solskjaer was asked who he would want to have in his roster. The manager was asked originally to just pick one of his former teammates but he pleaded to give more given how hard the decision would entail.

“I would probably pick, can I pick two? They didn’t even play the final. Roy Keane and Paul Scholes. I think I would pick those two,” Solskjaer said in a recent appearance in Shiv Nadar Foundation.

“It’s unfair to Cristiano Ronaldo, who is the best player in the world of course,” Solskjaer added.

“I played with him so I would like to have him in my team as well but Keane and Scholes, what an unbelievable midfield,” Solskjaer concludes.

The combination of a prime Keane and Scholes would make one of the best tandems in the current era with the way the two would dominate on the field. The manner of how the two would establish the pace of the game with excellent ball control and a cerebral approach would render them as one of the best. The pair would be close to unstoppable given the legendary careers they’ve put up.

For Scholes, he’s played in a total of 709 appearances for Manchester United and has proven to be one of the best players in the club. Throughout his career with the Red Devils, he’s scored in 152 occasions and tallied 73 assists. Add 11-time English Champion to this list to further solidify his case as a genuine winner for the organization.

For Keane, he’s had 469 games under his belt for Manchester United and scored 51 times and tallied 29 assists as a defensive midfielder. The football player hailing from Ireland has also collected numerous awards including the Football Player Of The Year back in 2000.

Add these two to the legendary Ronaldo and Manchester United would dominate the competition in this hypothetical super team for Solskjaer.
