Olivia Rodrigo Shares Glimpses Of Her Onstage Performance With Avril Lavigne [Watch]
Olivia Rodrigo took to Instagram over the weekend to share glimpses of her onstage performance with Avril Lavigne. The two artists apparently joined forces for an unforgettable rendition of the latter's 2002 hit song "Complicated."
The 19-year-old "Drivers License" singer performed at the Toronto leg of her ongoing "Sour Tour" Friday. At some point at the show, she introduced Lavigne on the stage, saying, "I'm so, so, so lucky because she came here tonight to sing with me. Please give it up for Avril Lavigne!"
The two hitmakers donned similar-looking outfits, which included black boots and plaid skirts.
Following their performance, Rodrigo posted a photo of her and Lavigne embracing one another onstage. The snap was accompanied by a short clip in which she and the "Sk8er Boi" singer can be seen singing "Complicated" while the audience members enthusiastically sing along with them.
"Toronto last night was special _ thank u dearest @avrillavigne for singing with me," Rodrigo captioned the post. "Look up 2 u so much."
Comments from fans who were delighted to see the two artists together quickly poured in.
"POP PUNK QUEEN AND PRINCESS," one of them commented, while another one noted, "God really has his favorites and it’s the ppl that were at this concert." Another supporter wrote, "The most insane night ever thank you so much."
Another fan shared a full video of the two artists' performance on YouTube.
Lavigne didn't miss the chance to post about the performance, either. In fact, she shared a series of photos as well as a clip of their duet on the same night their number took place.
"Jumped up to sing 'Complicated' on stage with @oliviarodrigo in Toronto tonight," the 37-year-old singer wrote. "It was very sweet to perform with you tonight on your SOUR tour!! Have an incredible tour gurl. Keep killing it. Sending you so much love."
"Sour Tour," which is composed of 48 shows, kicked off in Portland, Oregon, on April 5. Rodrigo is set to perform across Europe and North America for the duration of the tour, whose final show is happening at London's Eventim Apollo on July 7.
