'OMG, what about HER?': Prince Harry's Friends Disliked Meghan Markle, Claims Author
Prince Harry’s friends reportedly had a negative impression of Meghan Markle when they first met her. In fact, in his book “Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors,” royal author Tom Bower revealed that Prince Harry’s pals thought he was “f***ing nuts” for dating her.
Bower recounted an incident in 2016 when the Duke of Sussex invited Meghan to join him and 16 of his friends for a shooting weekend at the Sandringham County estate, the New York Post reported.
The get-together was meant for “endless banter, jokes, and a lot of drinking,” Bower said, but things took a different turn when Meghan suddenly rebuked them for making jokes that were not aligned with her values.
The book claimed that Meghan did not like Prince Harry’s friends’ jokes about “sexism, feminism, and transgender people,” so she called them out right in the middle of their merrymaking. “Without hesitation, Meghan challenged every guest whose conversation contravened her values,” wrote Bower.
“According to Harry’s friends, again and again she reprimanded them about the slightest inappropriate nuance. Nobody was exempt,” the royal author said.
Bower further claimed that Prince Harry himself was surprised by his girlfriend’s reaction but did nothing at the time. After the get-together ended, his friends called Meghan a “dampener on the party” and concluded that the Duke of Sussex must be “f***ing nuts” for dating her.
These alleged friends could not wrap their heads around how Meghan had berated them that while driving home after the get-together, they exchanged texts that read, “OMG, what about HER?”
“She lacked any sense of humor,” Bower wrote.
Meghan also had an alleged clash with Prince Harry’s friends in 2017. The incident took place months before their wedding, while on a trip to Jamaica to attend the wedding of Prince Harry’s good friend, Tom “Skippy” Inskip.
According to Bower, Prince Harry’s friends were “quickly disappointed” with Meghan during the three-day party at Jamaica’s Montego Bay, calling her “princessy.”
“Not only did she quibble about the food, but she behaved ‘princessy,’ refusing to engage with Harry’s friends,” he wrote.
A mother of one of Harry’s oldest friends allegedly said that Meghan did not even take the opportunity to get close with Prince Harry’s friends at the time. “She wasn’t interested in us,” Bower quoted the mother as saying.
