“Oh boy!” Is “Once Upon a Time” introducing a cute new character? A report is circulating that Mickey Mouse is making his way to the ABC fairytale drama in the Season 5 finale. Unfortunately, that report is simply an April Fools’ Day joke.

The rumor popped up on Spoiler TV, which named Entertainment Weekly as its source. The article does not state that it’s a prank, which led many “Once Upon a Time” fans to speculate about its authenticity.

According to the article, the famous mouse is being introduced due to “declining ratings” for the show. It continues the introduction of Mickey Mouse would involve Henry’s (Jared Gilmore) storyline as the Author and could “open up the possibility” for the addition of other characters like Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy and Pluto.

While that sounds like an entertaining idea for the Season 5 finale, it’s unfortunately a piece of fiction. Last year Spoiler TV posted a similar joke on viewers of the ABC network. They shared a story that “Lost” was returning in 2017 with a spinoff series, titled “Lost: Dr. Linus.”

Currently eight episodes remain in “Once Upon a Time’s” fifth season. The finale is titled “An Untold Story,” but no air date has been released. Check out some fan reactions to the Mickey Mouse April Fools’ Day prank below:
