‘Once Upon A Time’ Season 4 Spoilers: New Photos Tease The Return Of Zelena
Ding-dong! The Witch is … alive? Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) may have stabbed villainess Zelena (Rebecca Mader) in the Season 3 finale of “Once Upon a Time,” but new set photos reveal that Regina’s (Lana Parrilla) older sister is back in action.
A few lucky fans were able to get close to the ABC set and snap photos of Mader in all her green glory. The “Lost” alum was rocking a long black gown, fur-lined cape and pointed black hat. Most of the shots of Mader were taken during a break, but one image on Spoiler TV shows her filming with an interesting fairy-tale character … Marian (Christie Laing)!
When “Once Upon a Time” last left off, Marian gave her blessing to Robin Hood (Sean Maguire) to be with Regina. Unfortunately the pair did not get their happy ending because Marian relapsed from the icy spell of the Snow Queen (Elizabeth Mitchell). To save her life, Marian had to cross the town border – and Robin Hood went with her for the sake of their son.
Zelena hasn’t been on screen since Season 3. The villain was defeated by Regina, and had her magic amulet ripped off. Regina refused to kill her … but Mr. Gold had no problem doing so. Desperate to avenge the death of his son, Gold used his dagger to stab Zelena. She turned into porcelain and shattered. Gold then used his magic to change the surveillance footage so that it looked like Zelena killed herself.
Zelena and Marian never interacted previously, but it looks like the two will somehow meet when Season 4 resumes in March. What will they be up to? Both women have one thing in common -- their dislike of Regina. Although Marian seems on decent terms with Regina now, something could potentially change her feelings about the former evil queen. A series of events could connect Zelena and Marian and help them form an "I hate Regina" club.
New episodes of “Once Upon a Time” Season 4 resume on ABC on March 1. What do you think Marian and Zelena will be up to? Tweet your theories to @AmandaTVScoop.
