‘Once Upon A Time’ Season 5 Spoilers: Comic-Con Poster Previews ‘Dark Swan’ Storyline
“Once Upon a Time” fans shouldn’t expect a happy fairytale when the ABC drama returns in the fall. The residents of Storybrooke have had their ups and downs over the past four seasons, but a new promo poster for Season 5 teases that the storyline will be darker than ever before. Get ready for the “Dark Swan.”
As we previously reported, the episode title for the Season 5 premiere is rumored to be “The Dark Swan.” Entertainment Weekly delivered the first look at Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) in her new role as the Dark One – and now the official 2015 San Diego Comic-Con poster is giving fans another peek at how drastically different the Savior will be in Season 5.
The poster for Comic-Con features Emma Swan’s face – but nothing like viewers have seen before. Her face is white, lips are blood red and she has black feathers where her eyes should be.
“As formidable as Emma was as a hero, she’s going to be exponentially more dangerous as a villain,” executive producer Adam Horowitz revealed to TV Insider.
“Once Upon a Time” fans will remember that Emma sacrificed herself in order to save Regina (Lana Parrilla) and the others from getting consumed by the darkness that escaped Rumpelstiltskin (Robert Caryle). The magic turned her into the new “Dark One,” a title she took from an ailing Rumpel. But there is hope to get the old Emma back. It was revealed that the other heroes have to track down Merlin, the mysterious sorcerer who holds the key to getting rid of the darkness once and for all.
Viewers know that Regina, Hook (Colin O’Donoghue), Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin), Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) and Henry (Jared S. Gilmore) will do everything in their power to return Emma’s “light” … but how bad will things get in town now that she’s a villain? Answers will come when “Once Upon a Time” Season 5 premieres on ABC on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 8 p.m. EDT. Those attending San Diego Comic-Con can catch the cast at a special panel on Saturday, July 11.
