Your favorite fairytale characters are back! “Once Upon a Time” Season 6 premieres on ABC Sunday night, reuniting fans with Emma, Hook and the other Storybrooke residents. But before the new season airs, check out 11 things to know about the drama to come:

The Season 6 Plot

The Evil Queen is back! Regina (Lana Parrilla) thought she killed the dark side of her in the Season 5 finale; however, her evil half will be wreaking havoc in Storybrooke this year. Emma (Jennifer Morrison) will have her own struggles this year as she “learns a life-altering secret” that will “have serious consequences for her family and loved ones.” While all this is going on, the others in Storybrooke will be attempting to help the newcomers from the Land of Untold Stories.

Episode Titles

Season 6 of “Once Upon a Time” will feature 22 episodes. The titles for the first eight episodes have been released already. Check them out below:

New Characters

A handful of new faces will be joining the show this season. Aladdin, Jasmine and Jafar of the Disney classic “Aladdin will be joining the series. Deniz Akdeniz will play Aladdin, Karen David will play Jasmine, and Oded Fehr will be Jafar. The Land of Untold Stories will also introduce the Count of Monte Cristo, played by Craig Horner. Faran Tahir is also joining the cast, portraying “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” character Captain Nemo.

Savior Mythology

A sneak peek of “Once Upon a Time” was released at San Diego Comic-Con and revealed that Aladdin was also a savior. Season 6 will dive more into the savior mythology and reveal if Emma has other people out there like her.

Season 6, Episode 1 Synopsis

There is no waiting for drama in the Season 6 premiere of “Once Upon a Time.” Episode 1 will introduce more characters from the Land of Untold Stories, who will be seeking refuge in Storybrooke. Among them will be the dangerous and unpredictable Hyde (Sam Witwer), who the heroes will have to find a way to defeat. However, that will prove to be difficult when Emma “develops a mysterious side effect.”

Meanwhile, Rumple (Robert Carlyle) will be trying to free Belle (Emilie de Ravin) and his unborn child from the sleeping curse. The synopsis also teases that Regina and her sister, Zelena (Rebecca Mader), will be working on building a relationship. The two will become roommates as they care for the late Robin Hood’s (Sean Maguire) baby daughter.

Charming’s Backstory

Think you know Charming (Josh Dallas)? Think again! More of his backstory will be revealed in new episodes. Executive producer Adam Horowitz revealed to Entertainment Weekly that Charming and Snow (Ginniger Goodwin) will get to go on a new adventure to solve questions about his family and father. Plus, Gabrielle Rose will be reprising her role as his mother, according to TVLine.

Cinderella Returns

Cinderella was last seen in Storybrooke in Season 4. Jessy Schram will reprise her character this season, and viewers will also meet her infamous stepmother and stepsisters. The storyline will also rope in Emma.

Captain Swan

Emma and Hook’s (Colin O’Donoghue) relationship will definitely be progressing this year. This will also give fans a chance to go back into Hook’s past as he continues his “path of redemption.”

Rumbelle

Rumple will successfully release Belle and their unborn child from the sleeping curse, but that doesn’t mean they’ll become a happy family again. “Once Upon a Time” co-creator Eddy Kitsis told TVLine that it will be a “pretty bumpy” ride for Rumbelle.

Frankenstein Is Back

David Anders is going to be back in a guest spot as Dr. Whale, aka Victor Frankenstein. He’ll be in a single episode, just like he was in Season 5.

“Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” Crossover

“Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” was canceled, but one character will be crossing over. Jonny Coyne will reprise his role as Dr. Arthur Lydgate, the doctor who handled Alice when she entered the asylum. Although Dr. Lydgate didn’t initially believe Alice’s stories, the sight of a talking rabbit later changed his mind.
