ONE Championship Unveils Lead Card For Second 'Prime Video' Offering

For its sophomore appearance on Amazon Prime Video, ONE Championship has put together a lineup of intriguing bouts on the preliminary card tasked to set the exciting tone.

Leading the names competing on the curtain-raiser portion of the live event numbered "ONE on Prime Video 2" is Kim Jae Woong, who locks horns with undefeated newcomer Shamil Gasanov in a three-round featherweight encounter.

Kim, who's currently ranked No. 2 in the promotion's featherweight bracket, seeks to place himself back on the winning track after succumbing to a first-round knockout to future champion Tang Kai at ONE X this past March.

Prior to bowing to Kai, Kim was coming off two huge victories at the expense of Tetsuya Yamada and former two-division titleholder Martin Nguyen.

It seems Kim is on the lookout to restart his bid of getting a chance to vie for the intricately-crafted hardware, which is currently in the possession of Kai after the Chinese spitfire dethroned Thanh Le at the top of the talent-filled weight class a few weeks ago.

However, a tough test awaits Kim in his quest for redemption.

Gasanov, a blue-chip recruit who signed with the Singapore-based promotion earlier this year, has been undefeated in 12 matches since turning pro in 2014.

In addition, the Russian prospect has only gone the distance twice in his mixed martial arts (MMA) career, having eight wins by submission and two via knockout under his belt.

A victory at the expense of Kim could earn Gasanov an instant entry into the Top Five of ONE Championship's featherweight rankings.

Other duels confirmed to be part of ONE on Prime Video 2's lead card are the three-round kickboxing joust between Marat Grigorian and Tayfun Ozcan, the return of atomweight kickboxer Anissa Meksen going up against Daokongfah Banchamek, and the heavyweight kickboxing clash pitting Rate Opacic versus Giannis Stoforidis.

ONE on Prime Video 2 is set to be headlined by a rubber MMA match with atomweight queen Angela Lee challenging Xiong Jing Nan for her world strawweight championship.

Aside from the third encounter between Lee and Xiong, two more world contests are also booked for the extravaganza emanating from the Singapore Indoor Stadium on the morning of October 1st to be aired via United States primetime on September 30 at 8:00 PM ET.

Superbon Singha Mawyn stakes his featherweight kickboxing title against Grand Prix winner Chingiz Allazov, while Mikey Musumeci and Cleber Sousa are slated to go head-to-head for the inaugural ONE flyweight submission grappling championship.
