ONE Championship's Return To Malaysia Set To Air On Prime Video With Two Big Fights

ONE Championship's much-awaited return to Malaysia will receive some sort of royal treatment as the fight card is set to feature two intriguing world title contests that warrant to be seen by North American fans through Amazon Prime Video.

The live event numbered "ONE on Prime Video 3" will be headlined by two-division kingpin Reinier de Ridder, who is slated to put his coveted middleweight belt on the line against promotional newcomer Shamil Abdulaev.

Meanwhile, John Lineker is booked to stake his ONE bantamweight championship versus Brazilian compatriot Fabricio Andrade in the co-headliner.

Since joining the Singapore-based combat sports outfit in 2019, de Ridder has proven to be a puzzle that no one can solve as he aced his last seven outings in dominant fashion and won four of them by way of submission.

De Ridder—who also owns an immaculate 16-0 mixed martial arts record—bolstered his curriculum vitae by taking the middleweight and light heavyweight titles off Aung La N Sang in two separate outings.

"The Dutch Knight" has never looked back since then, extending his reign of dominance at the expense of top-tier opposition such as Kiamrian Abbasov and former champion Vitaly Bigdash.

Now, de Ridder is tasked to welcome Abdulaev, a Russian standout who holds an impressive win-loss slate of 13-1 with seven victories by knockout and one via submission.

Moreover, Abdulaev is heading into his maiden assignment under the ONE Championship banner on a three-bout winning streak.

In the other matchup, both Lineker and Andrade will have the opportunity to settle their differences after months of trading barbs on social media and in interviews.

Andrade staked his claim to be next in line for a world title shot courtesy of his vicious body-shot knockout of South Korean hard-hitter Kwon Won Il this past June.

The Brazilian knockout artist made it clear right there and then that he wanted a piece of Lineker.

"I'm coming for you John 'Chicken' Lineker. Don't hide. You are next," he exclaimed directly at the camera.

On the other hand, Lineker got his taste of gold when he overthrew Bibiano Fernandes for the bantamweight strap via second-round knockout.

In his first world title defense, Lineker draws a young spitfire who intends to cut his rule over the division short.

ONE on Prime Video 3 is scheduled to take place at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on October 22 (October 21 in the United States).

The last time that the organization hosted a show on Malaysian soil was on December 6, 2019—a 13-fight card entitled "ONE: Mark Of Greatness" that saw the coronations of two inaugural champions in kickboxing and Denice Zamboanga's upset win over hometown heroine Jihin Radzuan.
