One Direction Members Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik Are ‘Mates’ Again

Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik are good friends again.

On Monday, Tomlinson, 25, appeared on “Andy Cohen Live” where he revealed that he and his former One Direction bandmate, Malik have already reconciled. “We got back in touch with each other and kind of cleared the air and talked everything through. So we’re mates again, I suppose,” Us Weekly reported. “Like anything like that, it takes time. But it was nice that we had an opportunity to clear the air and be adults about it, I suppose.”

In March 2015, Malik decided to leave One Direction, which did not sit well with the other members, considering that the band was still in its prime years. Malik was decided and his decision caused a rift between him and the rest of the 1D singers, including Tomlinson, his former best friend. During their years in One Direction, the two were inseparable.

Tomlinson and Malik’s family were happy with the friendship they found in the band. In fact, when Tomlinson’s mom, Johanna Deakin was dying of leukemia, she asked his son to make amends with Malik. “My mum said, ‘You’ve got to get back in contact with Zayn. Life’s too [explicit] short’,” Tomlinson told The Sun. “A mother’s intuition is just [explicit] crazy. It always felt supernatural to me. My mum always knew what I was feeling and what I wanted.”

On the same interview, Tomlinson recalled some of the great times he had with Malik. “Zayn was always good for me in the band because he was my go-to if I wanted to lark around,” the “Back to You” singer said. “I could always break the rules a little bit with Zayn. So after that whole thing, it was that brotherly love. We will always have that love for each other. I can’t speak on behalf of him, but we really care about each other.”

In other news, Tomlinson is interested to introduce his 18-month-old son Freddie with Liam Payne’s 3-month-old son, Bear. Tomlinson wanted the two kids to be playmates. Meanwhile, Tomlinson has been sharing a couple of photos with him and Freddie playing the guitar. The former 1D singer is eager to pass his passion for music to his little one.
