A One Direction reunion will not be happening anytime soon. Nevertheless, fans still showed love and support for their favorite boy band, as 1D trends on Twitter.
There had been rumors spreading all over the internet over the past couple of weeks about a possible One Direction reunion. Fans’ hopes intensified when members of 1D spoke about it during their respective interviews.
Louis Tomlinson appeared on BBC Breakfast back in February to promote his solo album “Walls” and, during the interview, he was asked by the hosts about the One Direction reunion. Tomlinson replied that the reunion was “inevitable” but he just didn’t know when, Digital Spy reported.
Niall Horan was placed on the hot seat when he took the lie detector test during his guest appearance on “Carpool Karaoke.” “The Late Late Show With James Corden” uploaded a video on YouTube in March and, at that time, Corden asked Horan whether there would be a One Direction reunion. Horan, without hesitation, said yes.
Liam Payne, last month, said that One Direction had plans of doing a special project to mark the band’s 10-year milestone, The Sun reported. Payne revealed that he had been talking to Horan, Tomlinson and Harry Styles about several things but nothing was fully confirmed at that point.
The One Direction 10th anniversary reunion hype went on until Horan shut down the rumors. Talking to “Redknapp’s Home Fixture,” Horan confirmed Jamie Redknapp that they have been talking on what they could do but for now there was nothing in terms of getting the band back together, ET Canada reported.
Despite the disappointing news, 1D fans showed love and support to One Direction through Twitter with “WE LOVE YOU 1D.” These fans still continued to express how they miss the English singers being together.
One Direction was formed in 2010 after competing for U.K.’s “The X Factor.” After setting ground-breaking achievements in five years that they were in the entertainment industry, Zayn Malik left the group.
Horan, Tomlinson, Styles and Payne went on and released their final album before announcing the One Direction’s extended hiatus in August 2015, The Insider reported.
