One Direction is reportedly reuniting for their upcoming 10th anniversary.

Fans are speculating that the members of the hit band One Direction are making a reunion after Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson re-followed their former bandmate Zayne Malik on Twitter.

Page Six has confirmed that the 1D members are secretly planning to celebrate their 10th anniversary and they have tons of ideas on how to celebrate it. They could reunite for a TV special or release a new single. However, the group has no plans to make a tour.

At present, the five singers are on different recording labels and have solo deals. An insider told the publication that there are a lot of challenges at the time but it’s still possible.

“There’s still a long way to go and a lot of hurdles. Obviously, at the moment anything they do would have to be done virtually,” the source said.

“But there’s a lot of goodwill between them now and they want to make something happen.”

Payne has also confirmed their reunion plans with The Sun. According to the “For You” singer, he has been in constant communication with his former bandmates as they plan to mark the milestone. During the interview, he didn’t confirm if Malik would be involved in the reunion.

“We’ve got a ten-year anniversary coming up so we've all been speaking together a lot over the last few weeks which has been really nice,” Payne said in the interview in which he also celebrated the release of his new single “Midnight” with Swedish DJ Alesso.

“To hear a lot of people’s voices and seeing old content and different things that we haven’t seen for a long time or never seen before, it’s very interesting. At the moment I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say.”

Payne shared that they are working on different things to make it happen and they have been forwarding emails around. For him, the best part of their upcoming reunion is “for us to connect together again.”

One Direction was formed on July 23, 2010 after signing with Simon Cowell’s Syco record label. They released their first single “What Makes You Beautiful” on Sept. 11, 2011. The group’s first album “Up All Night” became a huge success and made it to the no. 1 spot in many countries worldwide, MTV reported.

However, in March 2015, Malik announced on Facebook that he was leaving the band. In August of the same year, E! News reported that One Direction would be taking an extended hiatus beginning March 2016 to focus on their individual projects.
