Chingiz Allazov did a lot of talking leading up to his bout against Superbon Singha Mawynn at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video.
On Friday, January 13 (Saturday, January 14 in Asia) at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, the Belarusian striker backed all of it up as he needed just two rounds to knock out Superbon and become the new ONE featherweight kickboxing champion.
Allazov was aggressive from the get-go as he pressured Superbon backwards with a continuous barrage of combinations.
In the second round, Allazov dropped Superbon with a looping right hand, which spelled the beginning of the end for the Thai champion.
Smelling blood in the water, Allazov unloaded a combination, which ended with another looping right that put Superbon down for a second time.
Allazov put the finishing touches on a masterful performance with another brutal combination, capped off by a straight right square on Superbon's jaw to put the lights out.
The official stoppage came at the 1:03 mark of the second round.
Allazov extended his unbeaten streak in ONE Championship to four-straight matches, which included a Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix victory and a career-defining world title win.
The impressive performance likewise netted Allazov a $50,000 performance bonus.
In front of a hometown crowd, Bangkok's own Superlek Kiatmoo9 added another intricately-crafted hardware to his resume, defeating Spain's Daniel Puertas by unanimous decision to capture the vacant ONE flyweight kickboxing title.
In a battle between two Top Five flyweight strikers, it was Superlek who reigned supreme as he picked Puertas apart with his signature kicks.
After five rounds of action, it was Superlek who earned the undivided nod in the eyes of the judges.
American grappling savant Mikey Musumeci was a picture of tenacity and relentlessness as he outgrappled Mongolia's Gantumur Bayanduuren to retain the ONE flyweight submission grappling championship.
Musumeci was taken down early, but he wasted little time in targeting Bayanduuren's left leg and continuously attempted kneebars and ankle locks.
Giving credit to the Mongolian combat sambo champion, he managed to power through the submission attempts and escape with a few minutes left in the bout.
Musumeci never let up as he attempted to catch Bayanduuren with a guillotine choke and then transitioned to a calf-slicer before trying a rear-naked choke as the time expired.
After 10 minutes of world-class grappling action, it was Musumeci who got the stamp of approval on all three scorecards to keep his world title draped on his shoulder and remain undefeated under the ONE Championship banner.
On the undercard, Aung La N Sang, Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Stamp Fairtex were all big winners.
