The upcoming "One Piece" Chapter 1017 may highlight how Otama, the cute but brave little girl of Wano, would turn the fortunes of war for the Straw Hats and its allies.

In the previous chapter of "One Piece," fans learned that Usopp, Nami, and Otama finally reached the parlor level of Onigashima where Bao Huang is stationed. These three now have the chance to dramatically flip the war using Mary the Frog. Tama can command all the Gifters and other SMILE users using the public address system on the island to fight against Kaido and his allies.

It appears that the legendary mangaka Eiichiro Oda seemingly foreshadowed Otama's crucial role in the war right from the very start of the Wano arc. Otama is the first character Luffy met after being separated from his crew. Her connection with Luffy's brother, Ace, and her devil fruit, all hinted at the possibility that she is not the usual fodder that fans get to know and easily forget.

All through the major events in "One Piece" Wano arc, Otama is there, doing the best she can. Her presence and kindness momentarily transformed the monstrosity that is Big Mom into a tamed and gentle O-lin. She even convinced O-lin to help them get Luffy out of Udon Prison. And just when fans thought Otama's role ended after the Pirates-Samurai-Ninja-Mink alliance left for Onigashima, Oda surprised the fandom when Tama showed up and saved Nami and Usopp in the nick of time.

"One Piece" fans learned that Otams reached the island with the help of the Centaur gifter Speed, whom she befriended using her Dango. Otama made a lot of dangoes, which Speed eventually handed out to as many Gifters in Onigashima, turning all that have eaten vulnerable to Otama's orders.

Based on the analysis provided by the CP0, there are around 3,000 Pleasures, Waiters, and Gifters at the Main Hall that have switched sides.

While the previous "One Piece" chapter did not directly state what Otama's announcement is about, it seemingly pointed at the possibility that it might be an order or instruction to those who have eaten her dangoes.

How this would turn out is still up in the air, but fans are certain that it would be in favor of the Straw Hats and its allies.

"One Piece" 1017 is scheduled to release on June 27.
