The latest set of spoilers for "One Piece" 1022 reveals the crushing defeat of the former First Division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, Marco the Phoenix, from one of Kaido's All-Stars, King the Conflagration.
The upcoming installment of the hit manga series is going to be action-packed, based on the latest set of spoilers from Redon and other insiders in the community. The chapter would reportedly show Sanji single-handedly fighting two of Kaido's All-Stars, King the Conflagration and Queen the Plague.
The relentless, countless and powerful attacks of the top dogs of the Beast Pirates crew knock Sanji out a little bit, making him cough blood and eventually causing him to fall. Charlotte Perospero sees this and laughs at Sanji getting knocked out, but Nekomamushi punches him, sending Big Mom's eldest son flying across the floor of the Live Stage.
Meanwhile, "One Piece" 1022 spoilers reveal that King senses a strange aura and sees Zoro on the floor. He is about to pierce the Pirate Hunter when Marco kicks him in the face. King tells Marco to give up if he does not want to die.
Based on the spoilers, Marco and King already fought before the events in Chapter 1022. Through a flashback, fans would learn that King was a formidable enemy that could launch a series of black fireballs. This attack looked so powerful that even if Marco already turned himself into a fire, the fireballs remained inescapable and still managed to burn him. King then used his katana laced with a strange haki and cut Marco repeatedly until the Phoenix fell to the floor.
The fight with King the Conflagration apparently caused Marco an arm and it seems that he could no longer grow it back. Marco the Phoenix was one of the strong pirates who stood up against the World Government during the Marineford War.
In several scenes during that war, fans saw him fight Akainu and other admirals head-on and came out unscathed. Marco's crushing defeat against King is surprising, considering it could mean Kaido's All-Star is more powerful than he is.
However, it appears that Oda is hinting at Marco's retirement from the fight scene. He would reportedly agree with King's advice to give up. Marco would tell King in "One Piece" 1022 his time is over and the real stars of the show should now take the spotlight.
"One Piece" 1022 is reportedly titled "The Stars of The Show." The incoming chapter is scheduled to release Sunday.
