‘One Piece’ 983 Might Reveal Connection Between Ace And Yamato

Over the past chapters of “One Piece” Oda made sure that fans would be intrigued about the identity of Kaido’s son. The fandom has a lot of theories involving Yamato, including the type of Devil Fruit he possesses and the reason behind his rebellion against Kaido. However, one of the most exciting theories about Yamato is his rumored connection with Portgas D. Ace, which fans might learn in “One Piece” Chapter 983 or in the upcoming chapters.

The theory on the connection between Ace and Yamato was shared in the “One Piece” forums’ WorstGeneration by the user named King of Beasts Kaido. According to him, Oda might have a strong reason for showing Ace’s short journey at the Land of Wano at the start of the arc. Ace’s visit to Wano has a bigger purpose in the storyline, which involves Yamato.

King of Beasts Kaido believes that Portgas D. Ace could have become Yamato’s close friend considering that both of them have something in common. Aside from being sons of strong and famous pirates, Ace and Yamato hate their fathers. The fan speculates that it is likely that Yamato does not like his father for the same reason that Ace hated Gol D. Roger.

The fan’s theory could very well explain the reason behind Yamato’s action as revealed in the latest set of spoilers for “One Piece” Chapter 983. It is possible that Ace had told him about his younger brother Luffy and Yamato was waiting for him at Onigashima all along. This further supports Yamato’s actions in the past chapters where he was revealed stalking Jimbe and Robin.

It is worth mentioning that this is just a fan theory, but this is one of the most intriguing one so far that could give a definite explanation on Yamato’s actions based on the latest spoilers. On Reddit, it was revealed that Luffy’s encounter with Ulti and Page One triggered him to run away. According to the spoiler, Yamato was waiting for him and joined him in his escape.
