Interestingly, a new set of details surfaced online revealing that Kaido could have spared Momonosuke’s life if he just failed the Yonko’s test.

The latest set of spoilers for “One Piece” chapter 986 was summarized by redon of Arlong Park forum and shared on Reddit by user heat_fan_. Based on the spoilers, despite Momonosuke’s presence, the Beast Pirates’ captain still could not believe that he is the son of the Daimyo of Kuri that he executed a couple of decades ago. Because of this, Kaido would test if Momo is indeed Oden’s son by asking him the same question that he asked twenty years ago.

According to the new set of “One Piece” Chapter 986 spoilers, if Momonosuke would answer that he is not Oden’s son, the Beast Pirates’ captain would spare his life. However, being the son of the supposedly Shogun of Wano and having been able to interact and mingle with great personalities, Momo failed Kaido’s expectations. He proudly answered that his name is Kozuki Momonosuke, the son of Kozuki Oden and the future Shogun of the Wano Kuni.

After answering Kaido’s question, the spoilers reveal that Momonosuke would have some ‘emotional thoughts’ and flashback about his parents. Kaido would reportedly look back at the time when Oden almost defeated him. He allegedly envisions Oden jumping at him.

“One Piece” Chapter 986: Red Scabbards Attack Kaido

While in a brief trance reminiscing the glorious day when he defeated Oden, the Beast Pirates’ captain stopped for a second. After that, he heard the Red Scabbards jumping at him shouting Sunacchi and Attack Kaido. Inuarashi allegedly blocks Jack and Queen while Kawamatsu blocks King with His Katana. Izou would reportedly shoot the sword from King’s hand.

“One Piece” chapter 986 is titled “My Name” and is set to arrive on August 2.
