Interestingly, some fans have their own theories and predictions for “One Piece” Chapter 986 and succeeding chapters on why they think Orochi is not dead.

On Reddit, several “One Piece” fans shared their theories on the possibility that despite what Kaido did to Orochi, they think the Shogun is still alive. Reddit user Kurita1306 shared that Orochi could still recover from Kaido’s fatal attack. The user believed that Wano’s Shogun would join the rebels or Oden retainers and together with Kanjuro, they will fight the governor-general of the Beast Pirates.

Meanwhile, IsaacRedmoon believed that Kaido did not really kill Orochi. Considering that the Shogun is a hydra devil fruit user, he is certain that Orochi would simply grow his head back. If the Shogun is a hydra, he got eight heads and Kaido only cut off one, which means he has seven more heads left, explained Reddit user TFitz52.

One fan named zonezone reminded the fandom that Wapul in “One Piece” was decapitated, but doctors simply stitched his head back. The character even made several appearances in several “One Piece” chapters. Reddit user matrixvivi also believed that Oda would not kill Orochi, considering that Oda brought back Pell and Pound who are less important characters in the series.

Granting that Orochi is still alive, multiple fans are talking about the character who could kill him. Hanki2 said that Kaido cutting off Orochi’s head could be a foreshadowing for Zoro beheading Kaido. Is oda planning to let Momonosuke kill the Shogun to avenge his father?
